Does Honest Coin tell me what my coin is worth?
Not with a guessed number. It tells you what the coin is (year, mint mark, series), flags key dates and famous errors, shows face value and — for US silver coins — the silver melt value at the silver price and date shown. What does "This one could be valuable" mean?
The date (and mint mark, when we can read it) matches a well-known key date or die variety on our list, such as the 1955 doubled-die cent or the 1909-S VDB. It means "check this coin closely": the app lists what to look for. Most coins of a key year are the common version; for one that passes the checks, ask a professional grading service (PCGS or NGC) or a reputable dealer.
Why does the app ask me for a close-up?
Dates, mint marks and variety details are tiny. When one of them decides the value and can't be read, Honest Coin asks for a close-up of that side instead of guessing. A close-up re-check sent within 30 minutes does not use a scan.
How many free scans do I get?
3 coins a day, every day (the count restarts at midnight UTC). Photos we can't identify don't count (up to 3 a day). Honest Coin Pro ($4.99/month or $29.99/year) adds unlimited coins, favorites, collection export (CSV) and batch scanning. There is no weekly plan and no free trial that turns into a charge.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On iPhone open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Honest Coin, or use Settings → Manage subscription in the app. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge; you keep Pro until the end of the paid period.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I reinstalled the app or got a new phone. How do I get Pro back?
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases while signed in with the same Apple ID.
Should I clean my coin before scanning?
No. Cleaning leaves hairline scratches that collectors and graders can see, and it lowers a collectible coin's value.
Is Honest Coin a cryptocurrency?
No. Honest Coin is an app that identifies physical coins. It is not a token, stablecoin or crypto wallet, and it is not related to the HonestCoin (USDH) cryptocurrency.
Do you store my photos?
No. Photos are sent for analysis when you tap Identify and are not stored on our servers afterwards. Your collection stays on your device. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Use Settings → Clear collection to remove on-device data, or delete the app. To delete server-side data linked to your device (scan counts), send us a request below with the Support ID shown in Settings.
